There have always been stories of dragons living along the Ethiopian coast, some of which were estimated at over 30 feet long. Some had 2, some had 4 wings, and they were adept at killing elephants. When the food supply on the coast was exhausted, 4 or 5 would unite and tie themselves like rope and head to Arabia. The Dracontias stones come from their brains and could make a house wealthy, but would only work if taken from a live dragon (not so good for the dragon) by means of cunning and drugged grasses.

Notes:
  • 4 wings and 2 clawed feet. Pliny, the ancient naturalist, puts their size at about 30 feet.
  • No breath weapon, but do eat poisonous plants.
  • Large enough to kill elephants
Tale 1:
Legends have it that 4 of them once wove themselves into a raft to sail to Arabia.
