Loch Ness Monster
Time Period: Unknown References in Literature: None Sources: Many
St. Columba is said to have ordered one of his men to swim across the lake and retrieve a boat, but when the man started swimming, the serpent went after him. St. Columba raised his hands, crossed the air, and told the serpent to retreat in the name of God. The serpent did, and all were amazed. Could be seen as a symbol of the Celts, Picts and other heathens of the area. |
