  • Said to be over 40 feet in length, nicknamed the Gurt Vurm, and devoured livestock and any passersby who ventured into the trees.
  • The base story says the a woodcutter, while in the woods, rested on a log and the log turned out to be a resting dragon. The woodcutter cut it in two with his ax. Other endings say that after the woodcutter sliced the dragon, the two ends ran around the forest.
  • Could also be related to the Dragon of Crowcombe.
