Tristan and Iseult
Time Period: 13th Century References in Literature: None Sources: Dragons and Dragon Lore pg 145 Note: This is only a brief summary, as told by Gottfried Strasburger. A king promised his daughter to a dragon-slayer. Tristan speared it, eventually killing it before collapsing into a pool. Iseult and her mother pulled him out then Tristan's assistant (who had run from the dragon) claimed that he had killed the dragon. Tristan challenged the claim and proved himself the victor. |
