  • This monstrous serpent hides in the pit of Hvergelmer (region of Niflheim or Hel) and gnaws on one of 3 roots of the ashtree Yaggdrasil (or Igrasil, The Cosmic/World Tree)in the hopes he will uproot it and cause the universe to fall. Fortunately for the rest of us, the tree is repaired daily by Norns, who covers the roots with gravel and water from a sacred well.
  • Niflheim is also called the House of Mists and lies in the far icy north and on the lowest level of the universe.
  • Nidhogg is said to eat corpses on Nastrond, the Shore of Corpses
  • Winged and likes to fly around Nifelhel
