Rainbow serpents are essentially a classification for Australia's dragons.

Rainbow Serpents, by name: (some of these may be alternate names) Tale 1:

Comes to life when it is met by 2 women - one of which is nursing while the other is menstrating. The rainbow snake swallows both. When storms are over and there is a rainbow, the women are seen at either end.

Tale 2:

It fell asleep in a lake and when an Ancestor disturbed it, it rose up and caused the Great Flood.

Tale 3:

A shamen released the world's water by distracting the dragon that held the water captive.
