While building a wall around Peking, the workmen disturbed the cave home of 2 dragons and they decided to have revenge by morning. So they filled 2 baskets with all the water in the village and visited the Prince's dreams to ask permission to leave with the baskets. He agreed and they left. When the Prince awoke to a great drought, we went in search of the dragons. When he caught them, he speared one of the baskets and immediately fled from the ensuing food-waters, heading toward a hill. A Buddhist prayed and the waters went down and the town was saved. The broken basket became a spring with a pagoda. |
