Originally some of the gentler dragon-kind, these creatures were later demonized by the Buddhists.
From Dragons and Dragon Lore:
- Korean dragon = riong = motion change
- Have a pear shaped pearl in their foreheads
- Snakes can be come dragons after 1,000 years of living under a mountain
- Sometimes required human sacrifice until the mudangos (female exorcists that perfomed rituals) were themselves killed
- Bones were often used for medicines and healing
- Korean dragon kings are mang
- Generally have 4 toes, although some only 3
Dragons Unlimited has a tale entitled Blood Red Dawn, which is attributed to Korea. (index-78.html).
