Notes:
  • Actually called a dragon in myths that were ancient by 7000 BC standards
  • Storm God that stole the tablets of the Laws of the Universe from the god Enlil.
  • Was killed by Ninurta (or Marduk in some tales), the sun-god, who took the tablets back to prevent chaos in the universe.
  • Symbol against thieving
Tale:

Besides stealing the tablets of the Laws of the Universe, Zu also wanted Enlil's power and so he stole Enlil's crown when Enlil set it aside to wash his hands. After Enlil lost power, Anu took it and called on Marduk / Ninurta / Lugalbanda to fight Zu. Ninurta failed because Zu still had the Tablets of Power.
