AD&D Faerie Dragons

Characteristics:
  • Can communicate telepathically
  • Can become invisible at will and can attack when unseen, although they avoid battles whenever possible
  • Offshoot of the pseudodragon in AD&D
  • Likes pranks and general mischief
  • Very rare
  • Some stories say they are the mounts of fairies
Habitat:
  • Likes temperate, tropical and subtropical forest areas, and lair in high tree trunks near ponds or streams
  • Only eat fruit, veggies, nuts, and other vegetarian delights (especially fresh apple pies, their favourite)
Physiology:
  • Very small - maybe 1' - 5' long maximum
  • Large butterfly-like wings
  • No specific color, instead they molt as they age - but femails have a golden tinge and males, silver
  • Some have a long nose and straw-like tongue
