- Produces "Salamander's Wool", a fire resistive fabric
- Thought to reside in fire and flames, including home hearths.

- Small, 4 feet, spots
- Extinguishes flame with its cold
Associations / Symbolism:
- Was eventually associated with witches through fire, and some witches could transform into salamanders to escape the flames.
